Tips for Generating Jewelry Blog Content

In this episode, I share some of my favorite tips for generating new blog post content on a regular basis. Yes, that’s right I said “blog”, a word that makes people roll their eyes when I say it. But blogging still matters today, especially if you want to reach more of your target customers through Google search results.

If you want to rank on the first page of Google for a certain keyword related to your brand, then you’ll need to satisfy as many of Google’s ranking factors as possible. Some of those ranking factors includes:

– Content length
– Coverage of an in-depth topic
– Content recency, meaning Google favors recently published or updated content
– Multimedia
– Useful content
– Value and Unique Insights

Guess what? You can do better at all of those ranking factors by blogging, and you definitely won’t be able to achieve the quality of content with things like your product detail pages or other internal jewelry pages on your site. So I don’t really care if you think that people don’t read anymore. Google still “reads”, and Google will notice and reward you when you’re producing great content.

The Path to Jewelry Marketing Success

For this episode, I was inspired by a Lifehacker podcast interview with marketing thought leader Seth Godin. He said, “The thing that looks like a shortcut is probably not the best way to get there. The best way to get there is to find a path that most people can’t handle.”

What does it mean? How can you apply his wisdom to jewelry marketing? In this episode, I share my interpretation of Seth’s quote and provide some impromptu tips for jewelry marketing success.

Interview with Ama McKinley, Founder of Ilium Wing

In episode #121, I share an interview with Ama McKinley, founder of Ilium Wing. Ama began making waist jewelry in 2010 after creating her first strands for herself and a few friends. Inspired by the sacred, powerful and divine symbology of waist jewelry to uphold femininity, fertility, protection, and spirituality, Ama followed her calling to reawaken the energy of this centuries-old tradition of adornment and healing. Her use of natural materials such as bone, beads, precious metals and gemstones preserves the origins of this ancient talisman, while her designs add a modern, elevated perspective. She founded Ilium Wing in 2019.

In this episode, I talk to Ama about topics like branding and setting your jewelry brand apart in a crowded marketplace, marketing with a focus on genuine engagement and community building, the power of emerging platforms like Clubhouse, and tips for executing an on-brand lifestyle photoshoot for your jewelry brand. It was so fun to talk to Ama, and I really hope you enjoy this conversation.
